Absent Bruce Hopkins, Bradley Huson, Deb Kristovich
Jim Hedrick appointed Mayor pro tem

Notably absent Town Attorney David Britton who submitted a letter of Resignation and after a delay was accepted a week ago.

Agenda item No. 1 Ordinance 1328 repealing Ordinance 1316 regarding Social card games (second reading)
Moved to February 7,2010 Town council meeting to allow time for new Town Attorney to review.

Agenda Item No. 2 Resolution 482 Authorizing Mayor to enter into an agreement for Legal Services with Morris Law P.C. for Town Attorney Services
Senior Attorney Carol Morris to be retained by Town of Ruston. Has previous legal experience representing Town of Ruston. Experience as Town Attorney for Town of Eatonville. Has experience small town comes highly recommended. Hired on short contract regarding Ruston Cafe and Casino. Flat rate contract better for Town of Ruston. One of most qualified.

Jim- Thanks to David Britton for dedicated service. Not easy to live in Town you represent.
Jane- Publicly thanks David Britton and he had a good relationship with Town.
